WHO AM I?
PRE-DIABETIC turned NUTRITIONIST
One of my greatest accomplishments is to be a first-gen college graduate. On the contrary, it would also lead to my biggest downfall - healthwise. I lacked the nutritional knowledge and cooking skills to properly take care of my body.
Summer of 2008, I was at my unhealthiest point. I kept getting sick, had low energy, and my stomach always hurted. After feeling ill, I went to the doctor and he told me I was pre-diabetic. Most notably, he said that my weight of 168 pounds was its driving force.
EMOTIONAL EATER turned HEALTH COACH
My whole life, I witnessed my dad struggle with his health issues (before he passed away in 2010 due to heart disease, kidney failure and diabetes). I told myself, I don’t want to struggle like him.
After changing my diet and exercising regularly, I was able to shed off 30 pounds in five months. But my weight and energy levels would continue to yo-yo for the next 8 years.
FATIGUED body turned FITNESS COACH
After years of burn-out, in November 2017, I quit my career in non-profit and as an HR practitioner. I wanted to truly heal myself (both mind, soul, and body), so I got my health coach certification. I thought that would stop my weight from yo-yo-ing and manage my hypoglycemia.
But I was wrong. It wasn’t until I earned my Nutritionist certification that I learned how to eat the right foods to fuel my body.
In the past 5 years, I’ve helped 200+ women lose weight, feel energized and create healthier eating habits.
PROUD FILIPINA-AMERICAN
My secret? Saying no to fad diets, calorie crunching, and endless hours in the gym. And focusing on buiIding a sustainable wellness routine. As a proud Filipina-American, I believe that you can enjoy those pieces of crispy lumpia and ‘Taco Tuesdays’ too!
Informed eating and understanding my body, helped me mold my body into one that truly serves me. Now, I have the energy (hike, dance, play tennis, etc.) to do the things I love with the people I cherish. I want to spread that joy and opportunity with others, which is why I created Vibrant Vida.
